Abstract:
In this paper, various consequences of the PISA mathematics results in Germany are analysed. After a short review of the German PISA mathematics performance since 2000 the paper focuses on three aspects: fostering professional development of teachers, implementing educational standards, and providing empirical evidence by research programs.
