A record number of the most exotic nuclei in the region around the unique doubly magic N=Z nucleus
100Sn were observed and new isotopic species towards the proton dripline were discovered with the facilities of the RI beam factory at the RIKEN Nishina Center. The decay spectroscopy was performed with the high-efficiency detector arrays WAS3ABi and EURICA. Fundamental observables of the species around
100Sn are determined and the accuracy of the Gamow-Teller transition strength of
100Sn has improved that model calculations can be experimentally discriminated for the first time.
