In this thesis, seven years of IceCube data are tested for clustering of astrophysical neutrinos. More than 700000 events are used in the analysis, resulting in an improvement of 40% in sensitivity to the previously published analysis. No significant clustering of neutrinos was observed and constraints on the nature of astrophysical neutrinos are inferred.
A novel study has been developed that connects cosmic rays, neutrinos and gamma rays in a multi-messenger approach. An excess of events is found associated to objects of BL Lac type with high synchroton peak (HBL), hinting towards a connection of the three messengers.
