This work focuses on the different techniques of multi-energy CT and the possible clinical, pre-clinical, and industrial applications that take advantage of the spectral information. The main aim is to study the effectiveness of material decomposition techniques in distinguishing two or more materials in an object. The decomposed images are then used for various applications. Results from the applications show improvement in image quality and usability. In conclusion, multi-energy CT provides many advantages in clinical diagnostics, pre-clinical and industrial CT.
