50 adults (27 after ASO, 10 after Fontan procedure, 13 Eisenmenger syndrome) were studied prospectively to assess hepatic damage using clinical data, ultrasound based procedures (USBP) (Fibroscan and ARFI), conventional abdominal sonography and laboratory analysis. As result 16 patients (8 ASO, 8 Fontan) showed signs of hepatic damage in both USBP. Laboratory data were altered in > 50% of all enrolled cases. Overall, regarding imaging and laboratory analysis, 62% (31/50) patients had signs of liver pathology, 34% (17/50) seemed to have liver fibrosis, and 28% (14/50) were suspect to have liver cirrhosis.
