Ziel dieser Arbeit war die Evaluation zirkulierender Tumorzellen (CTCs) in den verschiedenen Stadien des Prostatakarzinoms als Marker für Früherkennung und Stadieneinteilung, sowie als Verlaufs- und Prognoseparameter. Es wurden klinische Parameter, die Metastasierungsart und Metastasenlast, die Lebensqualität sowie das Gesamtüberleben untersucht. Die Detektion der CTCs erfolgte mit dem CellSearch® System durch immunomagnetische Selektion. Es zeigte sich, dass CTCs beim metastasierten Prostatakarzinom als molekularer Marker für Tumoraktivität und Prognose sowie Lebensqualität geeignet sind.     «

The aim of this study was to evaluate circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in different stages of prostate cancer as a marker for early detection and staging, as well as treatment monitoring and the prognostic value of CTCs. Therefore clinical parameters, metastatic pattern and tumor burden, quality of life and overall survival were examined. The detection of CTCs was performed using the CellSearch® System by immunomagnetic selection. It was found that in case of metastatic prostate cancer CTCs are applicable as a molecular marker for tumor activity, prognosis and quality of life.     «
