Abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) are a common disease in old people. At present PET/CT is tested as a diagnostic instrument for aortic aneurysms. To characterize the FDG-Uptake of the aorta, 19 patients with and 19 without aortic aneurysm were examined with PET/CT and FDG-Uptake was measured, partial-volume-corrected and analyzed in 11 anatomicly determined measuring points. Mean values didn’t show significant differences, but in single sections of the aorta both higher and lower uptake-values could be seen in patients with AAA.
