The purpose of this thesis is to make a contribution to both, the field of orthogonal polynomials and that of operator theory. On the one hand, certain relations between orthogonal polynomial systems are discussed. Given a polynomial system, we determine two related systems and the so called conjugate orthogonal polynomial system. On the other hand, the Cesàro operator in weighted sequence spaces is investigated. We establish a connection between the Cesàro operator and the orthogonal polynomial systems and exhibit various examples.     «

Das Ziel der Arbeit ist es, sowohl einen Beitrag zum Fachgebiet orthogonaler Polynome, als auch zur Operatortheorie zu leisten. Einerseits werden bestimmte Beziehungen zwischen orthogonalen Polynomsystemen diskutiert. Zu einem gegebenen System leiten wir zwei zugehörige Systeme und das sogenannte konjugierte orthogonale Polynomsystem her. Andererseits wird der Cesàro-Operator auf gewichteten Folgenräumen untersucht. Wir stellen eine Verbindung zwischen dem Cesàro-Operator und den orthogonalen Polynomsystemen her und legen verschiedene Beispiele dar.     «
