In der Studie wurde die In-vitro-Basophilenaktivierung mittels CD63 Expression anhand eines neuen Tests (Flow2-CAST®), eines etablierten Tests (Flow-CAST®) sowie die Leukotrienfreisetzung mittels CAST®-2000 ELISA bei 21 Patienten mit einer Typ-I Antibiotikaallergie und 12 Kontrollpersonen untersucht. Es zeigte sich eine Sensitivität/Spezifität von 50%/91% beim Flow-CAST®, von 53%/75% beim Flow2-CAST® und von 17%/73% beim CAST®-2000 ELISA. Die Resultate der Basophilenaktivierungstests waren mit denen anderen Studien vergleichbar, wobei v.a. der Flow2-CAST® mit einer kürzeren Testdauer, einer Optimierung der Zellseparation und höheren Werten in der Basophilenaktivierung Vorteile zeigte.     «

In this study 21 patients with a type-I-allergy to betalactams and 12 controls were examined. The basophil activation using CD63 expression was determined by a new test (Flow2-CAST®), an established test (Flow-CAST®) and a leucotriene release test (CAST®-2000 ELISA) test. The Flow-CAST®, the Flow2-CAST® and the CAST®-ELISA showed a sensitivity/specificity of 50%/91%, 53%/75% and 17%/73% respectively. The results of the basophil activation tests were in the range of other studies. The Flow2-CAST® showed advantages such as a shorter test duration, optimization of cell separation and higher values of basophil activation.     «
