Join us for a workshop to introduce you to the flexible and reliable visualization framework Open MCT, which is developed by NASA, for displaying telemetry data and issuing of commands. In the end, you will have a full test-setup, including a software-in-the-loop-simulation of a Mars-Rover, implemented and running on your own computer!
This hands-on workshop utilizes explanatory videos, so every participant can work in a different tempo, rerun sections or skip ahead. In order to enable engineers with little experience in web development or command-line interaction to follow along, the basic tools are introduced in detail in the video “Video0-Preparations” (link available below).
To make the most of the workshop, each participant needs a computer to work on with some Gb of free space. Administrator rights are needed to follow along the preparations Video (Vidoe0-Preparations, link below) in order to install the necessary software.
It is highly recommended to follow through the Video0-Preparations BEFORE the workshop starts, because every computer has some peculiarities that might take time to resolve! At the end of the video, the setup is tested to make sure, that your individual setup works. Finally, please check-out the starting point of the workshop from the repository using the command “git checkout tutorial_baseline”, e.g. in a Git Bash Window.
