Maturity of PLC based control software is the basis for flexible and adaptable automated Production Systems (aPS). Analyzing results from three self-assessment questionnaires and additional expert interviews on software maturity in aPS, this paper proves that there are typical maturity values and variations within the same company or within a specific industrial sector for selected companies.
