Die Synthese von bis-Benzimidazolium Salzen und deren chelat. Rhodium(I) Komplexe mit unterschiedlichen N-Substituenten und Brückenlängen wurde beschrieben. Die außergewöhnlich stabilen Komplexe sind aktive Katalysatoren für die Hydrosilylierung von Ketonen. Eine ausführliche Studie hat gezeigt, dass die komplexe Zusammenwirkung von Heteroyzklus, Brückenlänge und N-Substituent beim Design eines Katalysators berücksichtig werden muss. Der Effekt von Lösungsmittel und Gegenion auf Selektivität und Aktivität wurde mittels NOESY und PGSE genauer untersucht. Außerdem wurde die Hydrosilylierung von Ketonen und Olefinen mit Eisen wurde untersucht. Komplexe mit redox-aktive Liganden wurden als Katalysatoren getestet. Eine neue Syntheseroute für Eisen NHC Komplexe wurde entwickelt. Komplexe mit einfachen, verbrückten und funktionalisierten NHCs wurde dargestellt. Neue Konzepte für die Darstellung von Eise(0) Komplexen wurden untersucht.
