Im Bayerischen Nationalmuseum München befindet sich seit 1854 ein Flügelretabel aus Bad Reichenhall von 1521. Es handelt sich um ein – bis auf den oberen, abgesägten Abschluss – in Rahmung und Gemäldetafeln kaum verändertes Werk. Das Retabel ist stilistisch an der Wende zwischen Gotik und Renaissance anzusiedeln. Der ursprüngliche Aufstellungsort ist nicht bekannt, die Zuschreibungen variieren erheblich. Inhalt der Arbeit ist die Erfassung des Bestandes und die technologische Untersuchung des Retabels. Die Erhaltung des Werkes wird dokumentiert und ein Restaurierungskonzept entwickelt. Neue Erkenntnisse zur Herkunft werden vorgestellt. Der Künstler wird anhand technologischer und künstlerischer Merkmale näher charakterisiert.     «

Since 1854 the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum München keeps an altarpiece, dated 1521, coming from Bad Reichenhall. Except from the removal of the upper parts, the piece has hardly been altered in its framings or panel paintings. The altarpiece shows stylistic aspects of the gothic as well as of the renaissance age. The exact origin is unknown. The ascriptions to a certain artist or circle of artists do vary. This diploma thesis contents the description of the altarpiece and the results of its technological examination. Its current state of preservation is described and, based on this, a conservation concept is developed. New insights into the origin of the altarpiece are presented. The artist is characterized by his technological and artistic features.     «
