During the last 20 years, Building Information Modeling (BIM) has been present in the academic world. Nevertheless, it was not until the past few years, when BIM started making an appearance in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry, causing a significant direction change for the construction field. At the same time, due to the industry's in uences on BIM and its interaction in the market, BIM concepts, processes and standards are evolving rapidly around the world. Throughout the lifecycle of an asset, it is of great benefit to incorporate the implementation of BIM. Along the many asset's stages, different specialists are involved and require information from other project members. Additionally, information overlapping in and between stages is ineludible. Therefore, the collaboration between the different stakeholders is an essential requirement for BIM-based processes. For this reason, multiple software vendors have addressed interoperability by developing tools with various approaches to support collaboration processes. The purpose of this thesis is to test the process of a 3D model data enrichment, using a specific BIM-based collaboration tool with real-time facility management data. The intended result is to deal with the optimization of processes, and determination of required features the construction and facility management industries are looking for in a BIM-based collaboration tool.
