The main objective of the thesis is to investigate fundamental properties of the human haptic perception of rotatory switches which are widely used in the automotive industry. The first experiment investigates the effect of the presence or absence of an additional task on the haptic perception of switches. The second experiment investigates the influence of the position of the switch relatively to the user. The third experiment investigates the Weber fractions for the mechanical parameters mass moment of inertia, viscous friction, and Coulomb friction.
