Abstract:
Tissue samples have been routinely used for decades to distinguish healthy from diseased tissue in histopathological characterization. While nucleic acid-based methodologies have been successfully in use for many years, protein-based techniques, in contrast, are at a very early stage (with the exception of immunohistochemistry). One reason for this delay may be that the scientific community has long thought that formalin-fixed and paraffin embedded (FFPE) tissues are unfit for protein analysis....     »
