This thesis deals with the results of an experimental research program concerning the behaviour of stud shear connectors in high-performance concrete under increasing loads up to failure at the Lehrstuhl für Massivbau at the Technische Universität München. The program involved numerous push-out tests with pairs and groups of studs and variations in concrete grade, shank diameter and spacing between the studs. To determine the effect of the weld and the head on the load-bearing behaviour of the studs tests without weld or head was performed. The distribution of the stresses resultants in the stud was measured with strain gauges. Based on the measurements empirical and theoretical studies have been carried out. A mechanical model has been developed.
