Diese Arbeit ist eine prospektive Studie zur Bestimmung der Schmerzlokalisation und der Schmerzstärke bei Patienten mit fortgeschrittener Coxarthrose, bei denen die Implantation einer Hüftprothese geplant ist. Die Arbeit zeigt, dass die Schmerzen bei der Coxarthrose nicht nur an den immer wieder beschrieben Stellen in der Leiste und am ventralen Oberschenkel lokalisiert sind, sondern dass 80 % der Patienten Schmerzen an anderer Stelle haben. Dies hat erhebliche Bedeutung für differentialdiagnostische Erwägung bei Patienten mit Schmerzen im Becken und an der unteren Extremität.     «

The following work serves as a prospective study to determine the localization of pain and its magnitude among patients suffering from advanced osteoarthritis of the hip and therefore being eligible for a total hip replacement (THR). The study proves that the pain does not reside entirely in typical body regions (such as the groin and the ventral upper thigh).
