The presented work contains the documentation of hydromorphological procedures during flood with the aid of ADCP-measurements. Physical fundamentals of this technique are being explained and the results of several ADCP-measurements on two Bavarian rivers during flood are being documented. Besides recording flow velocities successfully, changes in river bed levels during high discharges could be detected. Furthermore it was possible to record bed load velocities as well as their distribution along the stream-width. The examination of ADCP-data with respect to suspended sediment concentrations resulted in very interesting findings about the correlation between backscatter intensity, recorded by the ADCP, and the desired measured variable, but also showed great demand for further research.
