„Acoustic Radiation Force Impulse“ (ARFI-Quantification) is a novel elastographic ultrasound-based method for the non-invasive measurement of tissue stiffness. The purpose of our study was the evaluation of practical applicability and the determination of potential influencing factors of ARFI-measurements in healthy probands and patients with stable kidney allograft function. Furthermore we analysed the correlation between ARFI shear-wave velocities and the histologic grade of fibrosis in renal allografts. In a follow-up exam, the changes in ARFI-measurements between clinically stable renal allografts and biopsy-proven transplant dysfunction were analysed.
