Software development projects are characterized by communication. After a meeting, the discussed information has to be documented in a protocol. However, writing a protocol is time consuming and the protocols are often incomplete or incorrect. The problem is worsened by an increase of informal meetings with no documentation.
To address these problems, this dissertation proposes a new methodology to externalize knowledge from meetings and automatically generate a protocol. Meetings are recorded and searched for predefined meeting elements. Based on the extracted meeting phrases, the protocol is generated and sent to all meeting participants. The automated protocol generation process is realized in the STACHUS framework.
