With the increase in the use of handheld devices, ECC and HECC have come to the lime light. The size of the cipher-text space is a significant indicator of security level. Unlike the traditional systems, ECC and HECC are defined on the Jacobian of the curves. Counting in the Jacobian is hard. Special methods were devised for counting, but are not yet fast enough. In this thesis, we bring together the Primorial method and the special properties of genus 2 hyperelliptic curves. The resulting method provides an improvement factor of P/j(P), where P is the product of the first p primes and j is Euler's totient function. We will see that the value of p varies, depending on the expected size of the Jacobian.      «

Mit dem Anstieg der Verbreitung von Handheld-Computern sind Elliptische und hyperelliptische Kurven-Kryptosystemen (ECC, HECC) ins Rampenlicht getreten. Die Größe des Raums der Geheimtexte (Gruppe) ist ein wichtiger Faktor für das erreichbare Sicherheitsniveau. Von den klassischen Systemen abweichend, sind ECC und HECC über die Jacobi-Varietät der Kurven definiert. Die Größe der Jacobi-Varietät zu bestimmen ist nicht trivial und die Berechnung ist schwer. Spezielle Methoden wurden entwickelt, um Jacobi-Varietäten abzuzählen, die aber noch nicht schnell genug sind. In dieser Dissertation kombinieren wir die Primorial-Methode für die Bestimmung der Gruppenkardinalität mit den speziellen Eigenschaften von hyperelliptischen Kurven. Dieses Verfahren ergibt eine Verbesserung um den Faktor P/j(P), wobei P das Produkt der ersten p Primzahlen und j die Eulersche j-Funktion ist.      «
