Newly developed methods for the integrated modelling of the structural design of satellite reflectors are presented and applied. The major focus is on the calculation of thermoelastic deformations taking stochastic scattering of material data and manufacturing errors into account.
Integrated modelling enables the concurrent consideration of all substantial aspects of design and development, resulting in time and cost savings. Additionally, the separation of parametric structural model and simulation methods allows the adaption of models to mission specific requirements, the examination of individual models by parameter variation and optimisation as well as direct comparison of different models.
