With the manipulation of control elements the user experiences an optical, acoustical and haptical feedback. Impressions obtain certainly the quality of the feedback about technical quality and subjective favour, in addition, the clarity of the switching process. This publication is concerned with the haptical feedback during manipulation of electromechanical control elements as for in-stance rotary switches or push-buttons. Methods are provided and evaluated to the visualization of the haptical impression. In addition relations between subjectively felt characteristics and technically useful parameters are qualified and quantified by systematic variation in subject tests.
