The study examines how female members of workers' councils interpret intra-company industrial relations, using the method of the narrative interview. Oevermann's approach of "patterns of interpretation" forms the theoretical basis, which is broadened by other theories such as Bourdieu's "habitus". As a result of the analysis, a typology of patterns of interpretation is developed. Furthermore, the study identifies common or similar interpretations chosen by the interviewed women. The object of the study is to provide indications on whether and how intra-company industrial relations are influenced by gender. It discusses potential approaches to developing a theory of industrial relations that takes into account the gender factor.
