Abstract:
Bipedal locomotion is a difficult control problem due to issues such as underactuation, unilateral constraints and the hybrid nature of stepping. In this work, using the reduced model of CoM dynamics, analytical controllers are designed for both walking and running. Both methods are powerful, purely analytical and very insightful. In a second step, the locomotion controllers are successfully embedded into a quadratic programming based whole-body control framework, which ensures good trade-offs between different necessary tasks and accomplishes the bipedal locomotion tasks.
