Abstract:
This thesis contributes to the design of fast and asymptotically stable tracking (set point and trajectory) controllers for nonlinear systems subject to input and state limits. We develop new conditions and algorithms for efficiently estimating a large domain of attraction (DA). The new GINA controller modifies the reference signal of the system such that asymptotic stability is guaranteed even if the system is outside of its DA. We derive the LISA condition which allows an adjustment of the saturation limits for compensating a trajectory tracking error depending on the desired trajectory. The benefit and the practical applicability of the developed methods are illustrated in several simulations and experiments.
