Aus dem Einsatz der 10-MHz-Ultraschallechographie und der SD-OCT sollte der Stellenwert der SD-OCT in der Diagnostik der senilen Retinoschisis (sRS) abgeleitet werden. Es wurden die Befunde von 33 sRS-Augen ausgewertet. Den Goldstandard bei der Bildgebung der sRS gibt es auf Basis der vorgelegten Arbeit nicht. Eine Beteiligung des Glaskörpers (GK) an der Pathogenese der sRS ist umstritten. Da die SD-OCT eine Beurteilung des GK-Status erlaubt, wurde mit ihr auch der vitreoretinale Übergang in sRS-Augen bewertet. Dabei ließen sich alle Stadien der hinteren GK-Abhebung finden. Eine maßgebliche Beteiligung des GK am sRS-Geschehen zeigte sich nicht.     «

The significance of the SD-OCT in the diagnostic process should be evaluated by using both SD-OCT and 10-MHz-ultrasound examination in eyes suffering from senile Retinoschisis (sRS). Altogether 33 imaging examination results of eyes suffering from sRS were compared. Based on these data there is no diagnostic standard in imaging of sRS. The contribution of the vitreous to the pathogenesis of sRS is controversially discussed. Because the SD-OCT allows for displaying the position of the vitreous, the vitreoretinal interface of eyes with sRS should be evaluated as well. SD-OCT finds all stages of posterior vitreous detachment in eyes with sRS. A significant contribution of the vitreous to the pathogenesis of senile Retinoschisis was not seen.     «
