- Abstract:
- Biofilm-vermittelte Infektionen sind eine der größten Herausforderungen der Endoprothetik. Durch die Morphologie des Biofilms ist die Therapie aktuell mit Operation und Antibiotikatherapie sehr aggressiv. In dieser Arbeit wurden die unterschiedlichen Auswirkungen der Virulenzfaktoren von S. aureus und S. epidermidis auf die Apoptose und Inflammation von humanen Osteoblasten dargestellt und patientenindividuelle Reaktionen festgestellt.

- Biofilm-mediated infections are among the greatest challenges of artificial joint replacement. Due to the specific morphology of biofilm-related infections, bacteria are capsuled off by an extracellular matrix accounting for the highly aggressive therapy. In this study the different effects of S. aureus and S. epidermidis on the apoptosis and inflammation of the human osteoblasts was examined and patient specific differences identified.
