- Das Adenokarzinom des Ösophagus gilt als eine Tumorentität mit weltweit stark steigender Inzidenz und schlechter Prognose. Ein entscheidender Prognosefaktor stellt der Lymphknotenbefall dar. Die lymphogene Metastasierung folgt einem bestimmten Schema und korreliert signifikant mit der Prognose. Kenntnis über den Zusammenhang von einzelnen Risikofaktoren und der Wahrscheinlichkeit von Lymphknotenmetastasen kann bei Planung einer individuellen Therapie und damit Verbesserung der Prognose helfen.

- The adenocarcinoma of the esophagus is characterized as a tumor entity with increasing incidence and poor prognosis. Lymph node metastases are known to be an important prognostic factor. Lymphatic spread follows a certain pattern and correlates significantly with the prognosis. Adequate knowledge of single risk factors and probability of lymph node metastases can help to establish individual therapies for each patient and improve long term survival.
