Abstract:

Translated abstract:
The extravascular lung water is a parameter used to predict mortality and lung function in critically ill patients. The correct indexing of the EVLW is crucial and has so far been primarily based on body weight. The analysis of the original data from 1758 patients showed an association of the EVLW with gender and height. This association was mapped in a new indexing formula (EVLW/new), which shows a superiority in the predictability of the mortality compared to previously common indexes.
