Minischweinen wurden dentale Implantate, die entweder mit nicht-viralen und für BMP-2 kodierenden Genvektoren (COPROGs), rekombinantem BMP-2 (rhBMP-2) oder Triclosan, welche jeweils in Verbindung mit der biodegradierbaren Trägersubstanz PDLLA beschichtet waren, im Oberkiefer inseriert. Die Tiere wurden nach 28 bzw. 56 Tagen geopfert, und das Implantat-Inferface mittels gefärbten bzw. geröntgten, histologischen Schnitten qualitativ und quantitativ begutachtet. Hierbei konnte keine positive Wirkung des nicht-viralen Gentransfers von BMP-2 im Vergleich zu den übrigen Beschichtungen belegt werden.
