The treatment of bile duct stones presents a challenge if their position is complicated and cannot be removed by mechanical lithotripsy during an ERCP. This dissertation investigates the effectiveness and efficiency of electrohydraulic lithotripsy (EHL) of such bile duct stones, employing a short-access-mother-baby (SAMBA) endoscope. Thanks to a shortened cholangioscope, the use of the SAMBA endoscope allows a better handling and thus ensures an efficient placement of the EHL probe as well as the visualization of the stone.
