In this study, mucoepidermoid carcinomas of the major and minor salivary glands were retrospectively statistically analyzed over a period of almost 10 years at the “Klinikum Rechts der Isar”. A total of 54 patients were included in the study. We could show that existing lymph node metastases represented a significant disadvantage for the survival of the patients. In addition, lymph node metastases were significantly more frequent with high tumor grading. Due to the small number of cases of this rare tumor entity, further investigations in the context of multicenter studies seem reasonable.
