Ovarian carcinoma is the gynecological tumor disease with the highest relative mortality. Personalized therapy strategies and the identification of new prognostic and therapy-relevant biomarkers are therefore of great clinical interest. In the present work it could be shown that a high neurocalcin δ (NCALD) expression was statistically significantly associated with a longer patient survival. Since NCALD could be involved in a specific cisplatin resistance, NCALD represents a potential therapy-relevant biomarker for ovarian cancer.
