Translated abstract:
Developmental biological processes, which regulate cellular differentiation, the stem cell character and the epithelial-mesenchymal-transition in the context of oncogenesis and metastasis of oral squamous cell carcinoma, move into focus of cancer research. In the present study it could be shown, that epigenetic regulation mechanisms integrate oncogenetic signaling information on the chromatin level and thereby influence the differentiation and the stem cell character of oral carcinoma cells. An important factor for the growth characteristics of oral squamous carcinoma cells represents the tumor stroma and specific proteins of the extracellular matrix.
