Abstract:

Translated abstract:
The sympathetic nervous system plays a crucial role in the onset and progression of cardiovascular diseases.
Based on the assumption that the sympathetic nervous system plays not only an essential role in the control of cardiac myocytes, but also in the control of cardiac non-myocytes like immune cells, we aimed for inhibition of the cardiac sympathetic innervation and combined it with induction of myocardial infarction. Analyses revealed lower numbers of macrophages coinciding with better cardiac function after sympathetic denervation and myocardial infarction.
