Fully automated 3D replication of complete objects in Rapid Prototyping (RP) environment currently does not exist. This thesis couples the three main computational processes involved in RP 3D Replication: X-ray based digitization, post processing and additive manufacturing (AM). The focus is set on development of RP-compatible procedures for reconstruction and model preparation for the subsequent selectable AM process. The realisation of the proposed concept leads to accurate 3D replicas and makes the altogether replication process fast and user-friendly, but still modular.
