Translated abstract:
Transcription regulation of the herbivore-inducible Igl gene of maize was analyzed. In vitro-analysis showed no volicitin incubation-caused alteration of DNA-protein binding within the analyzed proximal promoter region. Transient maize expression systems showed no Igl induction via volicitin. Promoter reporter gene constructs for stable transformation of monocot and dicot plants were created and transferred to Arabidopsis thaliana and Hordeum vulgare by T-DNA-transfer. Sequence elements specific for distinct expression in Arabidopsis thaliana were identified.
