In agriculture, the data amount related to nutrient flows is increasing due to increasing digitalization. However, only digital data networking enables cross-system analyses, evaluations, and optimization of farm and cross-farm nutrient flows, thereby supporting management decisions. Cross-system and cross-actor data infrastructure as well as the development of nutrient management systems for the system levels farm, agricultural landscape, and value chain are required. This thesis presents conceptual frameworks and methodological approaches for developing digital nutrient management systems.
