Abstract:
The thesis is concerned with the development and application of an analysis methodology for Boiling Water Reactor instability phenomena. The method identifies local thermal-hydraulic phenomena of the reactor core during an instability event. The presented fourier transform based algorithm is designed for the transient simulation output of a time domain coupled thermal-hydraulic / neutron-kinetic system code. The application of the developed methodology on a benchmark case shows a heterogeneous oscillation behavior of the individual fuel assemblies’ coolant mass flow rates.
