The investigations of the study site of the project Inform@Risk, aiming towards a landslide early warning system in the informal settlements of the city of Medellín, and its geological unit, the highly weathered and fractured Medellín Dunite, found a very heterogenic composition of the subsurface and pseudokarst formation. The resulting hazard map was used for the best possible distribution of the sensor system in the study site. Additionally, the development of trust among the community in the project, the scientists and the system itself was vital.
