The focus of this work is the fabrication of all inkjet-printed, low cost and disposable biosensor chips for in-vitro cell monitoring in diagnostics, toxicity tests and other cell related screening methods. Using various electrically functional inks on polymer substrates we could obtain biocompatible sensor chips robust enough in aqueous media to allow reliable and reproducible cell measurements. Novel SWCNT based sensors are integrated on the chips enabling the measurement of pH and oxygen changes caused by cell metabolism.
