Translated abstract:
This thesis deals with an innovative pedestrian protection system based on cooperative sensor systems. This system is derived from a secondary surveillance radar, which is able to detect and localize precisely pedestrians in the surrounding traffic. This cooperative pedestrian protection system has the unique capability to detect pedestrians also behind occultation and to classify other traffic partners by using the transmitted identification code. Central part of this thesis is the optimization of such a cooperative protection system by applying a realistic motion model of the pedestrian.
