Abstract:
In this work, a nanoelectromechanical system based on DNA self-assembly was developed with the DNA origami method. The nanostructure resembles a square base plate with a flexibly attached rotatable rod, that mimics a nanoscale robotic arm on top of a build plate. On the basis of the developed construct, electric fields were established as an effective, fast and easy-to-use strategy to control DNA nanostructures. The electric field actuation method was then used to demonstrate various basic functions of a nanoscale robotic arm.
