Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are a fascinating material platform to design smart materials that show interesting and useful responses to external stimuli such as host-guest interactions and pressure. In this thesis, various MOFs have been investigated regarding their static and dynamic responses in adsorption processes or under hydrostatic pressures and the underlying thermodynamic parameters studied to design and manipulate stimuli-responsive MOFs.
