Abstract:
Although their high risk to human health is known, rapid and affordable methods for the concentration and detection of enteric viruses in water are still missing to allow for routine virus surveillance. In this work research on analytical evaluation methods was performed and a standard operation procedure based on monolithic adsorption filtration (MAF) and qPCR was developed, which allows for a rapid detection and quantification of human adenovirus (HAdV) in surface water at neutral pH.
