Kurzfassung:
A new technique for natural product biosynthetic gene cluster capturing and expression, the Direct Pathway Cloning (DiPaC), was co-developed. Its versatility was demonstrated on the cyanobacterial anabaenopeptins from N. punctiforme and on the volatile organic compound sodorifen from S. plymutica. The heterologous expression of the ambigol cluster from F. ambigua was established in a cyanobacterial host. The reactivity of the two cytochrome P450 enzymes within the ambigol cluster were characterized.
