Abstract:

Translated abstract:
A retrospective single-center cohort study of patients who presented with acute intoxication with newer psychotropic drugs was conducted over a 14-year-period. Cases of poisoning with Citalopram (SSRI), Venlafaxine (SNRI), Mirtazapine (Tetracyclic Antidepressant) as newer antidepressants and Clozapine, Olanzapine and Quetiapine (atypical neuroleptics) (n=93) were analyzed. This study shows that intoxications with newer psychotropic drugs can cause severe clinical symptoms but are usually not lethal even in high overdose.
