The structure-function relation of hierarchically structured ZnO scattering layers and PEDOT:PSS polymeric electrodes were investigated by the use of X-ray and neutron scattering techniques. Highly diffuse ZnO scattering layers were obtained to enhance the light outcoupling of OLEDs. In combination with the polymeric electrode PEDOT:PSS, conducting bilayers were realized. Furthermore, the conductivity and water sensitivity is shown to be linked to the PSS content and the morpholgocial structure of PEDOT:PSS. Hence, efficient PSS extraction is realized by acid post treatments.
